The simplest answer is: religion is a person's beliefs. Some people believe in a supreme being. Others do not. Some people worship in a church, synagogue, temple, mosque or other building with others who share their beliefs. Others do not.
Beliefs are a very personal thing. Most of the time, children are raised with the same beliefs as their parents, and their parents' parents before them. Religion is something that is often passed down through the family. As we grow, especially when we become teenagers and young adults, we make choices about how we want to live our lives. Religion often provides the foundation for making the good choices.
Religions have a way of changing as time progresses. Many religions split into different variations of the same faith. Sometimes, new religions are created, and new laws or rituals are added. People also change as they grow up and often they change religions becoming "converts" of another religion. Converting to a different religion or staying with the same religion for life is another personal choice people make
Hi Neftali..Nice article by the way
ResponderEliminartell me what do you think about the kids or teenagers or siblings to be especific that do not want to be raise under a certain religion.
Because as you said religion is often passed down through the family, but what if one of the siblings don't like this type of religion?...Should they be forced to follow the same as the parents do?
Should their parents be more estric and forced them to believe in what they believe?, what can parents do in this situation?
Neftali,
ResponderEliminarReligions is not an easy topic to manage. Conversations turn into heptic ones when we do not know how to control our thoughts and we behave impulsively. I think these topics must be held by those wise and tolerant speakers.
Elizabeth remarks those situations when family members have different religion perspectives. Well my family went through recently. My parents were pretty annoyed with my brother´s decission to convert to protestantism. Now everything is cool again. I think love governs everything and makes differences fade away.
Respect and tolerance are the key to overcome all those tremendous diverse beliefs.
It is hard though.
Hello Neftali!
ResponderEliminarWell, let me tell you that religion is an interesting topic, but as teacher Aida said It is not an easy topic to manage.
However I think like humans, we have always had the neccesity to have a supreme being in who base our beliefs, no matter if they are christian or not.
In my oppinion religions help us to have a better life and also It helps us to be more faithful!!!
hi again
ResponderEliminarI like all the comments because they are so true.
I think that it doen't matter the religion or the type of religion you're confortable with, whaT it matters is the fact that we need Religion itself because as human beings we need or we are always looking for a guide, something or someone to follow.
As you said before is a controversial topic, and I just wrote the questions in order for you to see some of the problems that this topic can have in families, society, humans, etc.
hopefully we one day would find the truth; the truth that we as human beings are looking for, a truth that will make us free..
Nice topic again
have a nice day
Love
Ely
